“If you are an experienced business owner who knows how much product they can grow and how much they can make off of that product then you may want to get a bigger growing structure so that you can have more products to sell. If you know your product to profit ratios then you can almost predict how much more you will make.”

Your choice of cloning rack is a lot deeper than most people would realize. It can be very surprising when you first enter the industry. It would be much simpler if there were just one cloning rack in the business that was appropriate for everyone and the choices were relegated to that one. However, that is not the case the truth is that many companies make cloning racks for beginner level or consumer level growers. There are also cloning racks that are appropriate for industrial level business types. If you are a beginning grower then you can probably find something that is worthwhile on Amazon or by going to Cosco. However, if you are an industrial-sized growing business then you might be a little frustrated by the number of consumer products that will get in your way. They will get in your way when you try to find an appropriate apparatus for growing your product in industrial amounts.

One of the first things you should think about is the capacity of your cloning rack. Obviously, you can get a consumer-level growing apparatus but there is a limit to how much you can actually put into that structure. A lot of the consumer-level products will hold up to 800 pounds of whatever it is that you are going to put on the structure. It does seem like a lot until you find out that an industrial level growing cloning rack can handle 2500 pounds per level. The amount, in the beginning, might be too much for your business and could cause a problem with your overhead. However, if you are an experienced business owner who knows how much product they can grow and how much they can make off of that product then you may want to get a bigger growing structure so that you can have more products to sell. If you know your product to profit ratios then you can almost predict how much more you will make.

“You would think with all of the extra weight that the industrial versions would be less mobile. However, you would be incorrect because those can actually have industrial level wheels as well.”

Another issue that you need to think about is how mobile do you need your cloning rack to be on a daily basis. A lot of the consumer-level products are mobile. That is to say that they include wheels that allow you to push them around as you need. You would think with all of the extra weight that the industrial versions would be less mobile. However, you would be incorrect because those can actually have industrial level wheels as well. Although, there will be a difference in weight you can still move them around as you need. If you have the room for them to be able to be pushed around or spun in a 360° motion then you, basically, have consumer-level mobility and industrial level growing capacity.

A thing you should think about if you are thinking about going mobile is that you do lessen your ability to grow vertically. There are several issues that have to do with this but one of them has to be the overall stability of the system. Obviously, you do not want to make it so that it is dangerous to work around your growing apparatus. You are an urban farmer and a vertical grower. Someone has to be able to get in to do the daily maintenance that needs to be done on your crops. Therefore, you want it to be as safe as possible for you or your employees to work around these racks. If you do choose to make your cloning rack mobile in an industrial situation then keep in mind that you probably do not want more than two or three levels.
